Is A Gaming PC Better Than A PS5

A gaming PC is undoubtedly better than a PS5 because of its versatility, performance, and the option of many games.

A gaming PC and a PS5 are different devices in many aspects.  But making a choice has become harder for gamers after the release of PS5. So, if you are thinking about whether you should get a gaming PC or a PS5, then don’t worry!

In this article, we will be discussing all the pros and cons, and specifications of each platform that will help you to make your choice easier.

Specifications of a Gaming PC

A gaming PC has unique specifications, that make it special in the world of gaming. In a gaming PC, you can upgrade your system, and select the hardware you would wish to play games.

An additional benefit that PC gamers will get is that their games won’t be capped at FPS, even if their gaming PC is outperforming in 120 FPS.

The following specifications can be seen in a PS5:

  1. CPU: AMD Ryzen Zen Core 8 CPU
  2. GPU: AMD RDNA 2 GPU
  3. Memory: 16GB GDDR6
  4. Internal Storage: 825GB SSD
  5. External Storage: Supports USB HDD
  6. Video: Supports 4K blu-ray

Playing games on a gaming PC

Every type of game can be played on a gaming PC, with improved graphics and an uncapped framerate. But to enjoy the updates of some games, you might need to install some specific components on your PC to enjoy them.

You can still enjoy those games without the best components. You can even play many games on your budget-friendly gaming PC by reducing some settings.

Playing games on PS5

It’s been a year since PS5 was released. Its library is smaller than a gaming PC. There was no exclusive release for PS5. The games that can be played on a PS5, are also supported on a gaming PC. On PS5, the titles that were released last year are available.

Cost of a PS5

A PS5 would cost around $450-$500. PS5 has two different versions. One is the standard version which supports the disc drives and the other is the digital version without the disc drives.

The standard version would cost under $400, while the digital version would cost around $350. As PS5 is becoming more available, some people might buy it from resellers, which might cost more than $500.

After purchasing a PS5, you will need a wireless controller, which would cost around $70. If you want to play online, you will need to pay for your games, which would again cost around $70-$80 without any sales.

Then again you will need a PlayStation Plus membership, which costs $60 per year. After purchasing the console, the controller, the PS Plus membership, and new games, the total cost will not be more than $700.

Cost of a gaming PC

At this range, a gaming PC can not compete with a PS5. You have to cope with lower settings in 1080p gaming. It is not possible to play in 4K with a decent budget. In this price range, you’ll get integrated graphics, which can be good for your budget.

A gaming PC comes with some additional benefits which we can use more than playing games. But to get the same features as PS5, you have to spend extra money. The GPU shortage problem has made expecting the cost a bit tricky. But it should still cost around $1,000-$1,200.

Verdict

A gaming PC would be a great choice for those who are enthusiastic about gaming, again they need a device for their daily tasks. But a gaming PC is not affordable like PS5. Therefore, you don’t need to purchase a gaming PC just for playing games.

You can enjoy the same games in 4K, in PS5, which is more budget-friendly than a gaming PC. Now, it is up to you if you want to buy a gaming PC or a PS5.
