Why Is My Keyboard Not Being Detected

If your device can’t detect the keyboard, it can be due to dirt, physical damage, or some internal damage on the keyboard, backdated driver, or due to turning on the filter key option.

A keyboard is a must-have device for our computers and laptops. You can input data with the necessary letters, numbers, and words. You can also give commands to our computers for faster work.

In short, the keyboard is an essential part of the computer as it needs to do almost everything on a computer or laptop.

But the main problem arises when the computer or laptop can’t detect the keyboard. It can be a USB, a built-in, or a wireless keyboard.

If this worst thing has happened to your computer or laptop, then you don’t need to worry as today I’m going to show you some quick fixes to solve this problem.

What can you do when you can’t detect the keyboard?

Well, there are several fixing processes that you can go through to solve this problem. And here are all the possible solutions.

Fix 1: Unplug then re-plug the keyboard

First, unplug the keyboard and then plug it in again into the computer. Sometimes unplugging and then re-plugging solves keyboard-related issues.

Fix 2: Change the port

A broken USB cable of the keyboard can cause trouble. In that case, change the USB cable and then see whether the issue has been resolved or not.

Fix 3: Charge the keyboard

If it is a wireless keyboard and your PC can’t detect the keyboard, then the battery of the keyboard can be low. Charge the keyboard and then connect it to the computer.

Fix 4: Update the drivers

An outdated keyboard driver can cause this issue. Update necessary keyboard drivers for the keyboard to work properly.

Fix 5: Using a damaged keyboard

Sometimes the keyboard can be physically damaged but we can’t see it such as in the case of a built-in keyboard. A damaged keyboard can also cause issues.

Fix 6: Update the windows

Sometimes an update in the windows operating system can cause issues like keyboard detection. Updating the PC can fix the bugs available.
